Reds

Chianti

Our Chianti is made with the Sangiovese grapes from vineyards in Napa, California. We blend three different yeast varieties in the production of our wine to produce a rich and full bodied red wine with the utmost character and complexity. The first yeast brings out a big mouth feel with hints of plum, jam, rose and rich cherry. The second yeast adds complexity, tannic structure and freshness. Finally, the third yeast brings out the spicy notes of clove and nutmeg. American heavy toasted oak adds more tannins and a touch of vanilla at the finish of the wine that marries well with steak or spicy Italian pasta.

Cellar Door Big Red

Melbac grapes first brought to California in 1858 contribute to a third of the Cellar Door Big Red blend. This grape features a rich deep red color with good tannin structure. Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes each make up a third of the balance of the grapes. Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are considered the king of the red varietals with vibrant color, firm tannin's and excellent texture. Cabernet Franc grapes bring fruitier notes and add plum and spice to make a full and rich blend which, as a wine maker, is something I relish in a red wine. Cellar Door Big Red will enhance red meats, lamb, poultry, seafood and spicy Italian dishes.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cab, as it is affectionately known, is long considered the King of the red varietals, with an unmistakable texture and black currant nose. Firm tannin's envelop the wine locking in its vibrant dark cherry color. Wonderful earthy and floral tones give it complexity as it pushes some very dynamic fruit tones forward. It will age very well and maintain its seductive fruit tones for years. Cab, with its firm tannin characteristics, marries well with red meat, pork, lamb and pastas.

Tempranillo

Tempranillo is produced from grapes grown in Merced, California’s District 12, Merced Acres. This, the Spanish "Noble" grape is the dominant varietal used in the production of Spanish Rioja. California has seen a recent surge in single varietal wine production using this grape. Wine from this grape may be aged for several years or enjoyed when young. Ruby red in color, Tempranillo exhibits tones of plum, berry, herb, leather and Spanish olive. Tempranillo pairs well with strong cheeses, chocolate, red meats, pork and spicy dishes.

Sangiovese

Grown by Allied Growers in District 12, Modesto, California and first established in California in the late 1880’s, these grapes have medium to high acidity and body structure that can be medium to firm. The assertive and robust aromas include strawberries, blueberries, and plum with hints of cinnamon, clove, vanilla, smoke, and toast. Excellent when paired with red meats, lamb, and spicy foods. This wine ages well and will increase in complexity and character over time.

Petite Sirah

Grown in Lodi, California, Petite Sirah is predominantly planted in California where it does well. The petite sirah grape creates a rich red wine and is anything but petite; they tend to be robust, full-bodied, and, well, purple. Typical flavors include plum, raspberry, blackberry, and black pepper. The wine tends to go well with stronger meats - game, beef, lamb and spicy sauces. Petite Sirah can be enjoyed young and fresh from the bottle or aged for a mellower flavor as its high tannin content makes long aging worthwhile.

Malbec

Malbec is grown in California’s District 11 on the De Lue/Tully ranch. This grape has characteristics which fall between those of the cabernet sauvignon and merlot grape with deep color and good tannin structure. You can expect flavors of anise, plum, vanilla, and cinnamon from the oak used in aging the wine. The grape vines were first brought to California in 1858. It has seen increased popularity in recent years. The vintage is well paired with meat, pastas, lamb, and spicy foods.

Cabernet Franc

In the United States, cabernet franc grapes were first planted in New York and Washington. When first brought to California in 1872, the grape was scarcely used until several acres were planted in Napa Valley in the mid-1960s. California now has about 2,000 acres, mostly planted since 1980 with half that total in Napa and Sonoma. The flavor profile of Cabernet Franc may be both fruitier and sometimes more herbal or vegetative than Cabernet Sauvignon, although lighter in color and softer in tannins. Cabernet Franc is more aromatic than Cabernet Sauvignon, typically somewhat spicy and often reminiscent of plums and especially violets. These characteristics help the wine to pair well with strong cheeses, chocolate, red meat and pasta dishes.

Super Tuscan

Our deep purple Super Tuscan Blend includes Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. The Merlot brings a mellow softness, low acidity and easy drinkability while allowing the intense aromas and flavors of the Cabernet Sauvignon to remain present. The Sangiovese brings vibrant acidity and substantial tannins to the blend. Your palate will sense an herbaceous with the rich flavors of blackberry, plum and cherry.

Merlot

Merlot is a longtime American favorite featuring notes of raspberry and cherry. You will experience soft tannins, mocha, and vanilla with some hints of underlying spice.

Whites

Viognier

Grown on California’s central coast, the viognier grape is believed to be a very ancient grape originally from Dalmatia (Croatia) and brought to Rhone, France by the Romans. The grape is known for its complex fruit and floral aromas with low acidity. The aroma-flavor profile includes fruits like mango, pineapple, guava, kiwi, apricots and orange blossoms. Other complex aromas include anise, smoke, vanilla, mint and toast. Viognier pairs well with spicy dishes like Thai stir-fry or salsas and meat choices of poultry and fish. It is best to drink at a young maturation.

Peach On A Beach

Woodbridge, California’s District 11 is the home to these chardonnay grapes blended with peach juice to make a refreshing wine lower in alcohol content than Chardonnay by itself. Refreshing and invigorating, this wine pairs well with light lunches, time with afternoon friends or as a standalone beverage.

Sauvignon Blanc

Grown in Lodi, California’s District 11 on Ehlers Ranch, these grapes which are native to Germany create some of the most delicate and elegant wines. The wine is lightly oaked to add structure, body, and complexity. Your palate will appreciate the subtle hints of peach and apricot with nutty tones as the wine ages. This wine is an excellent pairing for fish or poultry dishes or to enjoy on a warm summer day on the patio.

Riesling

You will enjoy the zest and fresh character of the wine with its inherent higher acid and terpene content. Your palate will appreciate the subtle hints of peach and apricot with nutty tones as the wine ages. Pinot Grigio

Grown in District 11 on the foothills of Harris Ranch in Lockford, California, these colorful grapes produce a lightly structured wine with accents of fruit, citrus, smoke, and floral tones with slightly lower alcohol content. This wine’s higher acidity, low tannins, and crispness pair well with chicken, seafood, and pork. Best when enjoyed within the first two years of purchase.

Muscat

Muscat is produced from grapes grown at Lockford, California’s District 11, Moralex Farm. Its ancient roots from the Mediterranean basin are brought to life upon discovering the first aromas of this gorgeous floral variety. Powerful and blessed with intoxicating floral tones, the Muscat is very much misunderstood. Its beauty is in its powerful terpene rich compounds that create the intense rose and violet floral tones. With a slight touch of sweetness, the wine pairs well with strong cheeses, poultry and seafood dishes.

Chardonnay

Grown in Woodbridge, California’s District 11, Kramer Ranch, chardonnay grapes have a natural affinity to oak. We have used a small amount of medium-toasted American oak for our Chardonnay to bring out the vanilla and smoky flavors but not overpower the peach, pear, apple and tropical fruit notes in our wine. Chardonnay is a refreshing accompaniment to appetizers, cheeses, most seafoods, poultry, Asian foods and pork dishes.
